The Moulder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to process wood products while performing routine maintenance and quality inspections. They must ensure workflow efficiency and safety standards are maintained throughout the production process.
Job details
Shift: Straight Evenings (4:00-12:00pm, rotational shifts as needed) Key Responsibilities * Operate the moulder and handle cutter heads safely and with care * Set up the machine for various products including frame parts, dovetail, stock, and mouldings * Perform start up, shut down, and routine maintenance including greasing and inspections * Identify dull blades and sharpen or change them as required * Read and interpret production paperwork and drawings * Recognize wood species and their characteristics to ensure proper machining * Feed, catch, inspect, and stack material safely while maintaining workflow * Inspect product quality using templates and ensure all materials meet standards * Perform other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring * A strong commitment to safety and proper use of required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes). * Mechanical aptitude and comfort with machine setup and adjustment. * Keen attention to detail and quality, with the ability to spot imperfections and make corrections. * Solid understanding of wood materials and machining principles. * Dependability, teamwork, and pride in producing top-quality components.
