The Department of National Defence (DND) is seeking Engineers with experience supporting ships or submarines to join the Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton (FMFCB) in Esquimalt, British Columbia. In these highly technical engineering roles, you'll support the maintenance, repair, design, and operational readiness of Canada's naval fleet. Opportunities are available as either a Naval Architect/Stability Engineer or a Hull Structure/System Engineer, working on complex engineering challenges involving ships and submarines. We're looking for candidates who have: A degree in engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical, civil, electrical, aeronautical, marine, naval architecture, or another relevant engineering discipline Experience working as an engineering specialist in marine structures, marine systems, or naval architecture Experience supporting ship or submarine maintenance, repair, or engineering activities Experience related to ship stability, docking and undocking operations, and inclination experiments OR experience with hull surveys, hull repairs, and marine systems such as HVAC, firefighting, damage control, freshwater, or wastewater systems DND offers a comprehensive benefits package, a federal public service pension plan, and opportunities for ongoing professional development and career growth. Requirements

Candidates must have an engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant discipline and experience as an engineering specialist in marine structures, marine systems, or naval architecture. They must also have experience supporting ship or submarine maintenance, repair, or engineering activities, with relevant expertise in either stability and docking operations or hull surveys, repairs, and marine systems.
