Job Summary The Transload Operator supports safe, efficient material handling by operating heavy equipment and managing key rail activities. The role also maintains a clean, hazard‑free worksite and follows all SOPs and safety protocols to ensure reliable operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, adaptable, and competent in equipment operation and basic maintenance tasks. Duties and Responsibilities * Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. * Operate heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, railcar movers, and aerial work platforms (AWP). * Manage rail operations such as rail switches, spur lines, and transload conveyance systems. * Perform yard and facility housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment. * Complete equipment checklists, inspections, and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs). * Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the Superintendent or Operations Manager. * Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and investigations. * Complete required safety and equipment training or retraining. * Use all required safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Experience in a heavy industrial environment operating heavy equipment or rail equipment. * Flexible mindset with willingness to assist in yard and facility housekeeping. * Strong verbal communication skills. * Ability to work safely and follow SOPs. * Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Work Environment * Manual labour is required. * Working outdoors is required year round. * PPE is required to be worn at all times when working on site. * Site consists of variations in temperature and noise levels. * Sensory attention/mental stress can be quite high during high production periods.
