Job summary
Role : Business Analyst Duration: Contract – 18 Months Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid Position Summary We are seeking a Business Analyst to support Fixed Income Operations. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong customer service mindset and an interest in financial markets and fixed income products. The successful candidate will help manage settlement activities, investigate exceptions, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Manage and resolve fixed income settlement exceptions. Perform daily settlement activities for repo, pledge, bond, and safekeeping transactions. Investigate and resolve cash and depository breaks. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external business partners. Coordinate with regional and global operations teams to support efficient cross-border settlements. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes. Maintain and update process documentation to support knowledge sharing. Identify operational risks related to cash wire payments and escalate when appropriate. Monitor and respond to team mailbox inquiries. Manage individual and team requests while meeting service level expectations. Cross-train across settlement functions to provide team coverage. Support ad hoc requests, including audit confirmations and operational inquiries. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with business partners and service providers. Required Qualifications 1+ years of experience in customer service or operations related to settlements or fixed income products. Basic proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
