Discovery Community College (DCC) is seeking an organized, service-focused Campus Administrator and Financial Aid Officer to support campus operations and help students navigate the financial aid process. This Full-Time on-site opportunity offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment and may lead to long-term career growth within the College. Work Location : Nanaimo - 495 Dunsmuir St, Nanaimo, BC V9R 6B9 Salary range: $50,000 to $55,000 per annum (depending on experience) Schedule: Monday to Friday Key Responsibilities Assist students with StudentAid BC, Indigenous funding, WorkBC, employer sponsorships, and other third-party funding applications. Guide students through funding requirements, documentation, timelines, funding processes, and student responsibilities. Review, maintain, and monitor financial aid files, applications, approvals, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Identify and escalate funding delays, discrepancies, unusual circumstances, or compliance concerns as appropriate. Support campus administration activities, including student onboarding, orientations, appointments, correspondence, and reporting. Provide professional front-line customer service and respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries. Collaborate with Admissions, Student Services, Student Accounts, Finance, and campus leadership to support student success and a positive student experience. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Diploma or certificate in business administration, office administration, accounting, finance, education administration, or a related field. Minimum two years of experience in administration, student services, financial services, customer service, or a related environment. Experience in post-secondary education, financial aid, banking, lending, or a regulated private training institution is an asset. Experience with StudentAid BC or other government-funded programs is a strong asset. Strong administrative, organizational, records-management, and customer-service skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Ability to explain financial information clearly, respectfully, and accurately. Sound judgment when handling confidential personal and financial information. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn student information and financial aid systems. Why Join DCC?
