Location:Corporate Schedule:5x2 The Position The Director, Underground Growth is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight for the evaluation, development, and advancement of underground growth opportunities across Discovery Mining's portfolio. This role focuses on all technical aspects required to extend and grow the Company's underground mine production profile of existing and future assets. Key Responsibilities Provide technical project leadership in support of the Company's strategic direction and growth objectives; Oversee and deliver scoping studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and project planning activities for future underground mine production projects; Develop, implement, and maintain processes, standards, and tools to support technical analysis and evaluation of underground growth opportunities; Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of project scope across key functions, including processing, permitting, environment, operations, and technical services; Collaborate with external stakeholders, consultants, regulators, and contractors to advance underground growth projects toward construction and operational readiness; Lead and oversee engineering design, permitting, environmental assessment, and construction planning activities; Contribute to Discovery Mining's Life-of-Mine Strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and guidance; Liaise with Exploration and Technical Services teams to support project-related exploration strategies and resource development initiatives; Develop and maintain technical policies, standards, and procedures to ensure leading practices within the area of responsibility; Provide technical recommendations and project updates to support strategic decision-making and capital allocation priorities; and Participate in technical reviews, project evaluations, due diligence activities, and growth assessments, as required. Skills And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required; Minimum of 15 years of experience in mining, including progressive leadership responsibility in mine engineering, technical services, project development, or operations; Significant experience in underground mining, including exposure to study, development, construction, and operational phases; Experience leading scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies for mining projects; Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage internal and external stakeholders; Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling, production execution, and reconciliation processes; and Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Requirements
