The Position Reporting to the Production Engineering Coordinator, the Mine Surveyor is accountable for providing underground mine surveying and Mine Engineering / Operations Support in an underground environment, ensuring safe, and cost-effective production. The successful candidate will be a technology-orientated individual that will work in the areas of survey quality control and quality assurance, capable of working independently as well as with a team of technicians, technologists, engineers, and production personnel. Survey responsibilities include carrying out measurements, calculations, designs, inspections, and generating relevant drawings with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into their daily tasks. Skills And Qualifications A Technician or Technologist diploma in mining or related trades Experience with underground surveying techniques and equipment, including total stations, void/CMS scanners, hole surveying (Boretrak), and relevant software Advanced computer skills with emphasis on CAD (Amine) Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Experience with construction and project surveying would be considered an asset Familiarity or interest in modern mining technology and instrumentation (automated controls, mobile devices, UAVs etc.) would also be considered an asset Compensation And Benefits Competitive total compensation package including: Health, Dental, Life, AD&D, Disability, Healthcare and Wellness Spending Accounts, Virtual Care and Employee and Family Assistance Program; Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and Annual compensation of CAD$70,000 to CAD$87,000 Additional Information This posting is for an existing vacancy at Discovery’s Kidd Operations.
