Tax Manager | $115,000–$140,000 | Concord (Hybrid) There’s a point in tax where knowing how to prepare the return is assumed. What becomes more valuable is knowing what should happen before the return is prepared at all. This opportunity is with an established CPA firm in Concord, working with privately held businesses, owner-managed companies, individuals and trusts across both tax compliance and planning. You’ll be reviewing work, managing clients and developing staff, but you’ll also stay close enough to the technical work to actually use the tax knowledge you’ve spent years building. Why consider it: $115,000–$140,000 salary Hybrid working Concord location Broad corporate, personal and trust tax exposure Genuine tax planning responsibility Direct Partner and client involvement Opportunity to manage and develop staff Mix of compliance, research and advisory Autonomy over your own client engagements Long-term progression within the firm What you’ll be doing: Review corporate T2 tax returns Review personal T1 and trust T3 returns Prepare more complex returns where required Identify tax planning opportunities for clients Work with Partners on more complex tax matters Research Canadian tax legislation and technical issues Manage multiple tax engagements and deadlines Act as a senior point of contact for clients Review work prepared by junior and intermediate staff Provide technical guidance and review notes Coach and mentor developing accountants Support clients with CRA-related matters Assist with tax planning projects throughout the year Help improve internal tax processes and file quality What they’re looking for: CPA designation 5+ years of Canadian public accounting experience Strong Canadian corporate tax experience Experience reviewing T1, T2 and T3 returns Previous tax planning experience Strong understanding of Canadian income tax legislation Experience managing client relationships Previous experience reviewing and developing staff Comfortable researching more complex tax issues Ability to manage several engagements simultaneously CPA In-Depth Tax Program would be an asset If you’d like to know more about the position, just hit the apply button and I’ll be in touch. Requirements
Requires a CPA designation and at least five years of Canadian public accounting experience, including strong corporate tax expertise and experience reviewing T1, T2, and T3 returns. Candidates should have tax planning, client and staff management, and complex tax research experience; completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program is an asset.
