Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 40 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Tasks Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed Professionalism in customer service Load and unload goods Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Transport and handle dangerous goods Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles) Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Documentation knowledge Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Type of trucking and equipment Liquid bulk Security and safety Criminal record check Driving record check (abstract) Transportation/travel information Drive manual transmission vehicle Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Repetitive tasks Sitting Personal suitability Reliability Screening questions Do you have experience working in this field? Requirements
Requires a high school graduation certificate, 3 to less than 5 years of experience, and a valid driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Required credentials include Class 1/1F/A and Class 3/3F/DF licences, a Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate, and a WHMIS certificate; criminal record and driving record checks are also required.
