GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Press Assistant is responsible for working with the Press Operator on all day-to-day operations and maintenance for the press and area. The Press Assistant reports directly to the Press Department Manager. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and adhere to the company policies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Discuss daily workflow with Press Operators. Keep press feeder filled with stock as required. Anticipate the next skid required for each press. Unload Dollies to skids as required. Assist the Operator with skid or dolly identification. Assist Press Operators with daily and bi-weekly maintenance. Assist Press Operators with cleaning up during and at the end of the day. Empty Garbage into the correct recycle/garbage bins. Any further tasks as assigned by the Department Manager. SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong attention to detail and high level of organization. General mechanical aptitude is an asset. Must have the ability to multitask. Ability to work as part of a team. Positive work ethic and excellent attendance record. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Machine operator/production experience an asset. Knowledge of measuring systems is an asset. SHIFT: Wednesday to Friday - 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Wednesday to Friday - 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Sunday to Tuesday - 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Wages: Min $17.00 Max: $19.00
