Individual, Family & Couples Therapist — Weekend & Evening Availability Location: Hybrid — Virtual and Pickering, Ontario Position Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor Compensation: Starting at $90 per clinical hour, commensurate with experience Availability Requirements We are currently prioritizing clinicians who can provide consistent coverage during our highest-demand appointment times. Priority availability includes: Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM — highest priority Weekday evenings between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, particularly Mondays and Fridays Friday afternoons and evenings Sundays between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM Applicants must have consistent Saturday availability, preferably between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Additional availability on weekday evenings, Fridays, and Sundays is strongly preferred and may allow clinicians to build their caseload more quickly. Candidates should clearly indicate their specific weekly availability when applying. About Durham Psychotherapy Durham Psychotherapy is a counselling and psychotherapy clinic supporting individuals, couples, families, and teens as they navigate mental health challenges, relationship concerns, trauma, and major life transitions. We help clients develop deeper insight into themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. Our team serves clients throughout Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area through virtual and in-person services. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker, Registered Psychotherapist, or graduate-level Mental Health Therapist to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical foundation, a passion for supporting others, and a commitment to ethical, evidence-informed, and culturally responsive practice. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, family, and teen therapy sessions. Offer both virtual services and in-person sessions at our Pickering office, based on clinician availability and client needs. Maintain consistent availability during agreed-upon clinical hours. Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, which may include CBT, DBT, EFT, EMDR, IFS, attachment-based therapy, and other appropriate modalities. Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate. Collaborate with members of the clinical and administrative team to support continuity of care and positive client outcomes. Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, informed consent practices, and risk-management procedures. Qualifications Education Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or a related mental health discipline. Registration Registered and in good standing with an applicable Ontario regulatory college, such as: Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers; or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Qualifying registrants who are legally authorized to practise psychotherapy in Ontario may also be considered. Clinical Experience Previous experience in private practice, a hospital, community mental health, or another clinical setting is strongly preferred. Demonstrated competence in evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches. Experience providing individual therapy is required. Experience working with couples, families, and/or teens is considered a strong asset. Experience supporting diverse client populations and presenting concerns is preferred. Skills and Competencies Strong clinical judgment, assessment, treatment-planning, and risk-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds. Strong organization, reliability, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while remaining engaged with a collaborative clinical team. Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing supervision or consultation, and continued professional development. Schedule Clinicians will have flexibility in structuring their schedules; however, this role is intended to expand coverage during periods of strong client demand. Our current priority is: Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM Monday and/or Friday evenings: 5:00 PM–8:00 PM Friday afternoon/evening availability Sunday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM Consistent Saturday availability is required. Clinicians who can additionally offer weekday evening and/or Sunday appointments will be strongly preferred. Compensation and Benefits Starting compensation of $90 per clinical hour, commensurate with experience, training, and scope of practice. Requirements
