Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in high-voltage substations, including transformers and circuit breakers. Perform regular inspections, troubleshoot electrical faults, and manage control wiring and communication systems.

Job details

Some of your responsibilities may include: Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in high-voltage substations, including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and relays. Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of substation systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs or component replacements. Perform oil sampling and analysis on transformers and breakers and maintain accurate maintenance records. Install and terminate control wiring, fiber optics, and communication systems within substations. Follow all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures, including lockout/tagout and hazard assessments. Assist in outage restoration, switching operations, and emergency response when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor apprentices or junior electricians as needed. Position Requirements Valid Saskatchewan Journeyman’s License. Industrial, Mining, Utility and Substation experience is an asset. Experience with high voltage electrical equipment, cable management and medium/high voltage terminations. Current Valid Driver’s License & Driver’s Abstract required. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a minimal supervision environment Ability to pay careful attention to detail. Motivated self-starter. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with tight time constraints. Ability to work as a team player and follow our safety management system. The willingness to continuously further their skills and abilities. Physically fit to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs. Repetitive tasks which may require pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, & twisting; Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise, temperature, and air quality; May involve overhead work and heights. Physical fitness test and drug and alcohol test will be required.

Requirements
