Summary of the Role The Industrial Electrician (442A) will perform the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and general construction tools while ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities Test, diagnose, repair, and calibrate welding equipment. Maintain shop fabrication equipment as needed. Perform maintenance on 2-stroke engines and powered equipment. Test, repair, and certify rigging equipment (including chain falls and pullers). Repair threading and bending equipment. Diagnose and repair power tools as needed. May require travel to jobsites/shops to repair tools as required. Key Requirements, Experience and Skills Must possess a valid 442A Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification with Red Seal Endorsement. Repair certification courses (such as rigging inspection) would be considered an asset. Knowledge of construction tools, materials, and standard trade practices is preferred. Experience in trouble shooting, repairing, and calibration of welding machines and fabrication equipment. Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment installations. Mechanical experience is preferred. Forklift experience and/or certification required. Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract are required. Attributes Works well under time constraints. Great attention to detail and quality control. Multi-tasking capabilities. Effective communication skills (written & oral).
