Role Description The Lumber Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surrey, BC. The individual in this role will manage customer inquiries, provide product information, and recommend appropriate lumber solutions based on customer needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing orders, preparing quotations, coordinating with yard and logistics teams, and maintaining accurate sales records. The role involves building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, following up on leads, and meeting sales targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The Lumber Sales team member will also stay informed about product specifications, inventory levels, and market pricing to support effective sales and service. Qualifications Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with customers and internal teams. Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and support repeat business. Demonstrated Sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, and closing sales in a lumber or building materials environment. Experience in Training or mentoring team members on product knowledge or sales processes. Background in Sales Management or responsibility for managing accounts, pipelines, or small teams is an asset. Knowledge of lumber, wood products, or construction materials; ability to learn product specifications quickly. Comfort working in an on-site environment, collaborating closely with operations, yard, and logistics staff. Basic proficiency with order entry systems, inventory software, and standard office applications. High level of reliability, organization, and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple customer requests. Previous experience in wholesale or retail building materials, or related industry, is preferred.
