Job summary

ECG Engineering provides specialist electrical engineering design and project delivery services to the mining, utilities, materials handling and industrial sectors. With offices in Canada, Australia, the Philippines and Tanzania, our teams work together to deliver complex projects from early studies and detailed design through to construction, commissioning and handover. As our Canadian business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Mississauga team. The opportunity You will coordinate the engineering and delivery of complex electrical projects, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget, quality and client requirements are achieved. This is a hands-on project engineering role requiring strong electrical knowledge, practical field experience and previous exposure to mining or mineral-processing projects within an EPC or EPCM environment. You will work closely with clients, engineers, designers and project teams across our Canadian and international offices. The position is based onsite in our Mississauga office five days per week. What you’ll do Plan and coordinate electrical engineering projects from initial studies through to construction, commissioning and handover. Establish project objectives, execution plans, schedules, budgets and reporting requirements. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Monitor project costs and schedules, identify potential issues and initiate corrective action when required. Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, stakeholders and internal project teams. Coordinate project meetings and prepare progress reports, presentations and other project documentation. Manage engineering deliverables and ensure reviews, checks and approvals are completed in accordance with ECG’s engineering and quality procedures. Coordinate technical queries, engineering change requests and scope changes through the appropriate change-management process. Review and interpret engineering reports, drawings and technical specifications. Maintain accurate project records in line with contractual, quality and project requirements. Support and provide guidance to members of the Electrical Engineering team. Promote safe working practices throughout project design and delivery. What you’ll bring A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant electrical trade qualification. Strong project engineering or project management experience on complex, high-value electrical projects. Previous experience working in an EPC or EPCM environment. Mining, mineral-processing plant or closely related heavy industrial project experience. Significant field, construction or commissioning experience. Strong knowledge of electrical design and construction. Experience leading and coordinating project teams. The ability to manage project scope, cost, schedule, quality and client expectations. Strong client, stakeholder and contractor-management skills. The ability to independently review engineering reports, drawings and technical specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word and Excel, as well as QDMS or a similar document-control system. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. A strong understanding of safe working systems and standards applicable to mineral-processing facilities. Why join ECG?
