Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper role based in Hamilton, ON. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card accounts, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring timely and accurate data entry in accounting software. The role also involves supporting tax preparation processes, organizing financial documentation, and collaborating with team members to provide clients with reliable financial information. The Bookkeeper will contribute to EcoTax’s proactive, client-focused service by identifying discrepancies, suggesting process improvements, and maintaining confidential financial records. Qualifications Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate transaction recording, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance. Proficiency in preparing and understanding financial statements and related financial reports. Hands-on experience with accounting software and general finance concepts. Ability to create, review, and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client files. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment. Relevant education in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional certifications are an asset. Experience in small to medium-sized business accounting or public practice is considered an advantage.
