Job summary
Our downtown Edmonton office is looking for an experienced legal professional to work directly with a Partner and take a senior role in the day-to-day management of a busy family law litigation practice. This is not a traditional legal assistant position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a practice: manage files and deadlines, coordinate litigation matters, prepare and organize court materials, manage correspondence and scheduling, communicate confidently with clients and opposing offices, and keep a high-volume practice moving efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong family law litigation experience, exceptional organization and judgment, and the ability to work independently with a Partner who handles complex and demanding files. The role would be well suited to someone who: • has significant experience in family law litigation; • understands Alberta court procedures and litigation deadlines; • is exceptionally organized and proactive; • can anticipate what needs to happen next rather than waiting for instructions; • is comfortable managing a large and active file load; • communicates professionally and confidently with clients, counsel and the courts; and • wants a position with real responsibility, autonomy and long-term growth. This person will become an integral part of the Partner’s practice and will be treated accordingly. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with a strong package available for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced family law legal assistant who is ready for a more senior role, greater autonomy and a position where their contribution is genuinely important to the success of the practice. All inquiries will be treated confidentially. Interested candidates can message me directly on LinkedIn or submit their résumé confidentially to [email protected].
