Our versatile blow molding facility is backed by more than 25 years of experience in development, production, and finishing of custom plastic products. We provide complete project management for any blow molding needs. Using state of the art robotic trim and finishing technology, Exi-Plast delivers products that exceed our customer's expectations. In addition to our custom molded work, Exi-Plast develops and manufactures a variety of proprietary branded products that are sold by distributors and retailers throughout North America. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations & Quality Systems Manager to strengthen our production systems, develop frontline leadership, and drive consistent quality in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building capable shift leaders and operators, establishing robust quality systems, and ensuring that parts are produced right the first time. The successful candidate will be highly visible on the production floor, leading by example and driving sustainable improvements across all three shifts. QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred). Experience with extrusion blow molding and/or injection molding strongly preferred. Proven track record in developing teams and improving shop floor performance. Strong understanding of quality systems, standard work and process control. Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be on the production floor daily. Experience in a 24/7 operation or multi-shift environment. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Development & Training Develop and mentor shift leads and operators across all three shifts. Build structured training programs for operators, setup personnel, and leads. Standardize onboarding and skill progression pathways. Coach supervisors on accountability, communication, and performance management. Identify high-potential employees and create development plans. Quality Systems & Process Control Design, implement, and improve quality systems to ensure "right first time" production. Develop / improve and standardize visual work instructions, process sheets, and quality checks. Establish / improve in-process inspection standards and accountability at the operator checks. Analyze defects and implement corrective/preventative actions (root cause focus). Partner with sales, engineering, and maintenance to improve process capability. Production Floor Engagement Maintain a strong daily presence on the production floor (hands-on leadership). Observe processes, identify gaps, and drive immediate improvements. Support troubleshooting of molding processes (extrusion blow molding & injection molding). Reinforce adherence to standards, safety and best practices. Lead by example. Cross-Shift Alignment (24/7 Operation) Ensure consistency of standards and performance across all three shifts. Create effective communication systems between shifts (handoffs, reporting, accountability). Spend overlapping time with off-shifts as needed to support development and alignment. Drive a unified culture and expectations across the plant. Continuous Improvement Identify and execute process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap. Introduce and sustain lean manufacturing principles and standard work. Track key metrics (quality, scrap, downtime, productivity) and drive improvement plans. Build systems that reduce reliance on tribal knowledge and increase repeatability. KEY TRAITS FOR SUCCESS: Highly hands-on and action-oriented. Strong coach and mentor.
