Job Description Transportation Planning Analyst is an early-career to intermediate professional role supporting transportation planning, mobility analysis, and infrastructure advisory projects in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The position contributes to multidisciplinary transportation studies involving transit, rail, traffic operations, and multimodal mobility planning while collaborating with planning, engineering, and infrastructure delivery teams. The role supports project development activities across transportation planning phases, including data collection, mobility analysis, transportation modeling, GIS-based assessment, technical reporting, and proposal preparation. Work may involve urban transit, rail, roadway, and active transportation assignments requiring coordination with technical specialists and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings academic training in transportation-related disciplines, strong analytical capabilities, experience interpreting datasets, and exposure to mobility planning methodologies. Familiarity with transportation modeling, GIS applications, and infrastructure planning environments is beneficial. Key Responsibilities Support proposal development activities through research, technical input, and preparation of service submissions. Conduct mobility data analysis to identify transportation trends, system performance issues, and planning considerations. Perform transportation modeling using specialized planning or traffic engineering software. Complete GIS analysis and spatial assessments utilizing ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar geospatial platforms. Assist with multimodal transportation planning studies involving transit, rail, roadway, and active transportation networks. Contribute to traffic engineering assignments through technical analysis, data interpretation, and reporting. Support rail and urban transportation planning projects through research, documentation, and technical evaluations. Prepare technical reporting materials, summaries, and analytical findings to support project delivery. Qualifications Required University degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Economics, Geography, Operations Research, or a related discipline. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis capabilities. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments. Experience with data analysis and data processing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to develop practical transportation planning solutions in a collaborative project environment. 0-3 years of relevant transportation planning, mobility analysis, transportation research, or related experience (inferred from Analyst-level title; not specified in source content). Assets Experience with transportation planning software or transportation modeling platforms. Experience using ArcGIS or QGIS. Exposure to multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, rail planning, or urban transit studies. Working knowledge of transit and mobility data analysis methodologies. Strong knowledge of French for candidates based in the Montreal office. Experience supporting transportation infrastructure studies and planning projects.
