Position Summary The Disability Case Manager is responsible for managing short-term disability (STD) claims from intake through resolution. This role involves assessing functional abilities, determining eligibility, coordinating medical care, and facilitating safe and timely return-to-work outcomes. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a client-focused approach. Key Responsibilities: Review short-term disability applications to determine eligibility based on medical and policy criteria Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate for claim adjudication Evaluate claims through communication with claimants, employers, and healthcare providers Assess functional abilities and support return-to-work planning Coordinate timely medical assessments and treatment plans Communicate claim decisions clearly, both verbally and in writing Resolve client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally Manage claims throughout the lifecycle until resolution or transition to long-term case management Calculate and issue accurate benefit payments Maintain precise records of weekly and monthly disability payments Coordinate premium waivers with insurance providers Maintain professional, confidential communication with all stakeholders Manage an assigned caseload and develop expertise in specific client groups Collaborate with internal teams across Ellement divisions Support additional projects and administrative duties as required Qualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a health-related field (preferred) Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in: Disability case management Benefits administration Claims adjudication or healthcare-related roles Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of medical and mental health conditions Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities Strong numerical and calculation skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and organizational skills Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication Language Requirements Candidates must be fluent in both English and French (spoken and written). Certifications Paramedical services therapist license (preferred) Attributes Ability to handle sensitive medical information with strict confidentiality Resilient and adaptable in time-sensitive environments Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills Collaborative team player with a proactive approach Additional Requirements Successful completion of a criminal background check

Requirements
