Team members collaborate closely with artists, curators, and the public to support a vibrant local and national arts community. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Art Gallery Sales Associate role based in Montreal, QC. The Sales Associate welcomes visitors, provides information about exhibitions and artists, and offers a high level of customer service to collectors and guests. Responsibilities include assisting with artwork sales, processing transactions, maintaining sales records, and supporting gallery events such as openings and private viewings. The role also involves ensuring the gallery space is clean, organized, and visually appealing, as well as handling inquiries by phone, email, and in person. The Sales Associate works closely with the gallery team to promote exhibitions, support marketing efforts, and contribute to an inclusive and professional visitor experience. Qualifications Strong sales and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide informed guidance to visitors and collectors. Knowledge of, or strong interest in, contemporary art and the local Québec and Canadian art scenes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; proficiency in French is a strong asset. Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems, email, and office software for processing sales and maintaining records. Ability to work on-site in Montreal, QC, including some evenings and weekends during exhibitions and events. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism in a public-facing role. Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or gallery/museum environments is an asset. Formal education in art, art history, cultural studies, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
