emergiTEL is hiring a Business Analyst for our client in the Financial Services industry. Contract Duration: 10 Months Contract with possible extension Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB (Hybrid-01 day per week in the office for team meetings) Job Description Support Payments and initiatives under the Payments Modernization program. Primarily support the Real-Time Rail (RTR) and FSRB initiatives (approximately 90% of responsibilities). Support Money Movement Sustainment activities (approximately 10% of responsibilities). Perform process mapping and business process analysis. Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements. Conduct data analysis to support solution design and decision-making. Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and designers. Participate in testing activities, including test planning, execution, and validation. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand objectives and priorities. Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Create and maintain user stories, story maps, and related Agile documentation. Support the successful delivery of Real-Time Rail initiatives through FY27/28. Qualifications and Skills University degree in Computer Science, Business, Management, Human Computer Interactions, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2-3 years of experience related to channels and payments, including payment products. 2-3 years of experience within the payments industry with knowledge of clearing and settlement processes. Experience with APIs, web services, application design, system design, and technical communications. Ability to communicate complex information and concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Results-driven self-starter with the ability to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven team player committed to growth and continuous improvement. Experience in retail banking, business banking, financial services, or digital experiences is considered an asset. Working knowledge of SAP and/or core banking systems is preferred. Vacancy Status This is an active position currently open for hiring.
