**Central Okanagan School District #23 **
It is acknowledged that Central Okanagan Public Schools operates within the unceded, Traditional Territory of the Okanagan syilx peoples. We invite applications for the position of:
**Accounts Clerk **
This position reports to the Planning Manage and perform accounting, administrative/clerical duties.
**Specific duties and responsibilities include: **
- compile information, calculate and estimate costs and prepare progress reports on capital projects; prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile petty cash fund, visa purchases, expense and mileage accounts and Third Party Expenditures; prepare, verify, enter and track purchase orders; receive and verify invoices and the delivery of goods; pare materials including correspondence, reports, budget documentation, work orders, etc. using a variety of computer programs; handle emergency requests; maintain a variety of files and records; communicate with staff and others and respond to inquiries and provide general information.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- completion of secondary school (Grade 12); six (6) months post-secondary education in Office Administration program including finance/accounting; eighteen (18) months previous related accounting/bookkeeping experience; excellent knowledge and experience with all Microsoft modules including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.; knowledge and experience with other accounting program; a net typing speed of thirty-five (35) words per minute.
**The successful applicant will be expected to: **
- maintain a high quality of work including accuracy and dependability; possess good organizational skills; maintain excellent interpersonal skills; successfully complete the District Bookkeeping course; complete the required District's Health and Safety training.
This is a full-time continuing position starting as soon as possible, working 35 hours per week at a wage rate of $28.81 per hour, plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short term and long-term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
