About the role
The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position ofCashier at our Grant Park Food Storelocated at**1120 Grant Ave, in Winnipeg, MB.**The Cashier will report to the Frontend Manager.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
- Educate customers on the benefits of membership in Red River Co-op and encourage them to join.
- Operate a cash register, take payment from customers and provide change.
- Follow all legal requirements regarding the sale of lottery and tobacco products.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards are to Co-op specifications, including cleaning of all equipment and display cases.
- Follow safe front-line loss prevention practices and maintain a constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise from the site.
- Present a neat, clean, well-merchandised department and related work areas (checkout areas and nearby displays).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. We’re looking for individuals who builds great relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Strong customer focus and interest in serving others.
- Good mental math skills.
- Experience working in a retail environment. Specifically, experience handling cash would be an asset.
- Open availability and willingness to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
