NSB Omega is searching for a Machinery Engineer for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.

Assignment Description Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for rotating and mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, engines, gearboxes, and associated auxiliaries
• Lead or support equipment selection, specification, design reviews, and technical evaluations
• Troubleshoot machinery performance and reliability issues; perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
• Support commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and field activities as required
• Develop and review maintenance strategies, operating procedures, and technical documentation
• Interface with vendors, EPCs, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with project and operational requirements
• Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and best practices (API, ASME, ISO, CSA, etc.)
• Provide technical input for capital projects, modifications, and brownfield work
• Support asset integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta or eligibility to obtain
• 5+ years of machinery engineering experience within the oil & gas industry
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment design, operation, and maintenance
• Familiarity with API standards (e.g., API 610, 617, 618, 670)
• Experience working with vendors and reviewing technical bids and drawings
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Experience in upstream, midstream, or LNG facilities is considered an asset

Duration 1 Year (With Possibility of Extension)
