SMS Equipment is growing in Elkford, BC. We're hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson or 4th Year Apprentice to support mining and construction operations in a remote field environment. If you’re a skilled troubleshooter with a safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently, we want to hear from you.

Base Wage: $49.78 - $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums apply.
Location: Elkford, BC. Housing is available.
Schedule: 7x7

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment
• Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds
• Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
• Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role

What You Bring

The successful candidate will be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician. Other requirements include:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment
• Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds
• Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
• Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role
