The role: Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Team Lead, the Receiver Material Handler is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely flow of materials into and out of the central warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production operations, and upholding Trojan’s high-quality and on-time delivery standards.
This position is part of the Operations Department, located in London, Ontario, and will be on-site.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Take charge of receiving and processing all incoming raw materials, parts, and finished goods—ensuring everything arrives safely and accurately.
- Dive into the details by verifying shipments against packing lists, truck bills, and orders, making sure every item is accounted for.
- Keep things moving by preparing and delivering materials to their designated locations using both manual and powered equipment, including forklifts.
- Inspecting materials for damage or non-conformance and collaborate with Buyers or Planners to resolve any issues.
- Master inventory control by performing ERP system transactions and cycle counts, helping maintain precise inventory records.
- Tackle discrepancies head-on, supporting corrective actions with the Inventory Control team to keep operations running smoothly.
- Champion lean practices by executing KanBan processes, organizing workspaces with 5S methodology, and ensuring materials are presented efficiently in work cells.
- Completing daily reports, audits, and participating in continuous improvement activities.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of material handling or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory management, ERP transactions, and cycle counting.
- Basic math skills and computer literacy.
- Understanding of KanBan and material flow processes.
- Ability to operate and pass certification for forklift / powered industrial truck.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety practices.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
