Role Description The Utility Arborist / Line Clearance Arborist — 444B role at Enersurge Corp is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area. This role involves performing vegetation management around utility lines and related infrastructure, including safe pruning, removal, and clearing of trees and brush to maintain required clearance. The Utility Arborist / Line Clearance Arborist will conduct tree assessments, identify species, evaluate tree health and risk, and recommend appropriate maintenance or removal strategies. Daily tasks include operating chainsaws and other arborist tools, working at heights, following safety protocols, and collaborating with field crews, utility partners, and supervisors to plan and complete work assignments. The role requires accurate documentation of work performed, adherence to environmental and regulatory standards, and commitment to safe work practices in diverse outdoor conditions. Qualifications Strong knowledge and practical experience in Forestry and Arboriculture, with the ability to apply best practices in utility line clearance. Demonstrated expertise in Tree Identification and understanding of Trees and their growth patterns, health indicators, and structural characteristics. Certified Arborist designation (or eligibility/intent to obtain certification) and familiarity with relevant utility arborist / line clearance standards. Experience working in utility vegetation management, including pruning, tree removal, and right-of-way clearing near energized lines. Proficiency in operating chainsaws, chippers, aerial lift devices, and other arborist equipment, with strong safety awareness. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform physically demanding tasks, and follow all safety and regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a field team and with utility and contractor partners. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; additional equipment or utility-related certifications are an asset.
