Job summary

Who We Are We are ENG, #1 BIM services provider in the United States, specialized in hands‑on, field‑focused Building Information Modeling (BIM) services for large‑scale projects such as data centers, hospitals, airports, industrial plants, schools, casinos, and more. Our core business is MEP Modeling and Coordination, and we also provide services such as Steel Framing, Prefabrication, BIM for Facility Management, Scan to BIM, and Design Assist, along with an Innovation area that develops tools and apps for the AEC industry. Our purpose is to innovate and modernize the construction industry by leveraging BIM technologies to make our clients’ work more efficient. As a company, we value candor, accountability, and a win‑win mentality and work as a horizontal, highly collaborative organization. The Role – Electrical Business Unit Director (BUD) The Electrical Business Unit Director will lead a Business Unit (BU) focused on electrical BIM/VDC services for US‑based projects, with a strong emphasis on mission‑critical facilities. A Business Unit in ENG is a group of approximately 30 team members with its own set of clients, portfolio of projects, P&L, and growth strategy. This BU will be fully dedicated to the electrical subsystems, engineering vs. construction, delivering BIM/VDC solutions for complex, US‑based projects. You will: Oversee the strategy, operations, and profitability of the Electrical BU. Lead a diverse team of Project Managers, BIM Coordinators, Technical Leaders, Job Captains, BIM Specialists, and Modelers focused on US electrical BIM/VDC projects. Ensure world‑class delivery to US clients while building a strong career path and growth experience for team members. This position reports to the Head of Electrical Trade and the C‑suite, and collaborates closely with other BUDs across ENG. Location, Availability & Time Zones: Remote role based in LATAM, working as an independent contractor for ENG. Flexibility to work across all time zones (PST, MST, CST, EST) is expected, depending on client needs. Occasional travel to the United States to visit client sites and industry events may be required based on project demands. Mandatory Requirements Technical & Market Experience 10–20 years of experience in the AEC industry with a strong technical foundation in electrical systems and BIM/VDC for MEP. Strong hands‑on BIM modeling experience (Revit + Navisworks as a minimum). Profiles that only supervised or coordinated without modeling themselves will not be considered. Mandatory: substantial experience working on US‑based BIM MEP projects (either from LATAM for US clients or having been physically in the US). Only candidates with robust exposure to US codes, standards, and construction culture will be considered. Advanced, hands‑on proficiency in Revit and Navisworks for MEP/Electrical. Experience with tools like AutoCAD, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Recap, and Bluebeam or similar is highly valued. Proven experience directing BIM/VDC teams, not just acting as a BIM Lead. You must have led large multi‑layer teams (PMs, Coordinators, Tech Leads, Job Captains, Specialists, Modelers, or similar positions). Experience with financial management, KPIs, and P&L‑oriented decision‑making in a business, division, or BU context. Education An Advanced or Bilingual English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as all delivery, most documentation, client communication and key stages of the process are in English. We are primarily open to Electrical Engineers, Electromechanical Engineers, or Civil Engineers with strong electrical specialization. Other degrees may be considered only with a proven, long-term track record in mission-critical electrical projects (e.g., data centers). We are not looking for architects with limited electrical exposure—this role requires a purely electrical-focused background. Top Job Responsibilities Strategic & BU Leadership Design and execute a 3–5 year growth strategy for the Electrical BU, focused on US data centers and complex MEP projects. Translate ENG’s strategy into clear BU goals, priorities, and measurable KPIs. Financial & Operational Management Own the P&L and budget execution of the Electrical BU, using P&L data to make decisions on staffing, pricing, and project mix. Drive operational excellence, QA/QC, and scalable workflows across multiple US‑based BIM projects. Client Management & Business Growth Build and maintain long‑term relationships with US clients, acting as a strategic partner on scope definition, constructability, coordination, and long‑term portfolio growth. Identify new opportunities and BU growth initiatives based on market signals and client feedback. Team Leadership & Talent Development Lead and mentor a 15–30 person BU, nurturing leaders (PMs, Coordinators, Technical Leaders) and ensuring clear career paths and development plans for team members. Collaborate with People Business Partners in recruitment, engagement, retention, and succession planning. Technology, BIM Expertise & Innovation Ensure the BU has deep, hands‑on expertise in Revit, Navisworks and other key BIM tools (AutoCAD, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Recap or similar). Promote and sponsor innovation initiatives that improve constructability, coordination, and productivity in electrical BIM for US projects. Nice‑to‑Have Strong track record in data center or mission‑critical electrical projects (major differentiator). Experience collaborating closely with US electrical contractors, GCs, or owners. Experience with prefabrication, advanced coordination, and constructability‑driven BIM in electrical systems. You Are Great for This Role If You Enjoy being both a technical referent in electrical BIM and a business leader who owns strategy, P&L, and growth. Feel motivated by building strong, long‑term careers for ENG’s talent while serving high‑demand US clients. Are comfortable making tough decisions, communicating with transparency, and keeping long‑term impact in mind.
