We're looking for a talented Reinsurance Financial Analyst to be a key player in our North American operations. This isn’t just a traditional accounting role—it’s an opportunity to shape processes, leverage cutting-edge technology, and contribute to a high-performing team. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week in our downtown Toronto office (walking distance within PATH from Union). What You'll Do: Lead Financial Excellence: Take charge of core reinsurance accounting processes, ensuring premium, commission, and cash flow transactions are accurately recorded and reported on time. Your work will directly influence our management decisions and client satisfaction. Innovate and Improve: Support exciting projects aimed at automating workflows, upgrading financial systems, and implementing new reporting tools. Your ideas will help us streamline operations and elevate our reporting capabilities. Partner Across Teams: Collaborate with departments such as Claims, Actuarial, IT, and Reinsurance Operations to solve complex operational challenges. Your insights will help us optimize processes and ensure compliance. Deliver Strategic Insights: Prepare comprehensive management reports on profitability, claims, and premium estimates. Your analysis will inform key business decisions and client negotiations. Ensure Control & Compliance: Design and maintain robust accounting controls, support audit processes, and document processes to uphold our governance standards. Support System Enhancements: Lead user testing for system upgrades and contribute to automation initiatives that make our financial operations more efficient and responsive. Contribute to Special Projects: Play a vital role in implementing new analytical tools and reporting systems that keep us at the forefront of the industry. What We're Looking For: 3-5 years of experience in finance, ideally within the insurance or reinsurance sector. A degree in Commerce, Business, or Accounting CPA designation or in progress is an asset Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced skills required). Experience with Oracle, PowerBI, SQL, or PSQL is advantageous. A proactive team player who embraces innovation and technological trends. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with ease. Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for translating data into clear insights.
