Job summary
An investment-focused finance team is seeking an analytical professional to support investment monitoring, regulatory compliance, and reporting activities. This role is responsible for helping maintain investment control frameworks, ensuring compliance with investment guidelines, producing management reporting, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of investment systems and operational processes. The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers, finance, compliance, and external service providers to promote accurate reporting, strong governance, and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities: Support the administration and enhancement of investment monitoring processes, ensuring controls, procedures, and documentation remain accurate, up to date, and aligned with business requirements. Maintain and test investment compliance rules, regulatory limits, and investment guidelines within portfolio management and investment administration systems, validating their accuracy and effectiveness on an ongoing basis. Monitor investment activity for compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, investigate exceptions, and provide analysis to stakeholders regarding rule breaches, alerts, and investment restrictions. Prepare recurring investment compliance and management reports while supporting regulatory reporting obligations and responding to requests from internal business partners. Produce and analyze investment-related financial and operational reports, validating portfolio data, holdings, and performance metrics through analytical review procedures. Assist with the development, maintenance, and testing of automated reports and reporting tools to ensure they accurately reflect portfolio changes and evolving business requirements. Maintain appropriate controls over investment reporting processes, including change management and governance surrounding report development and system updates. Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to support investment data management, broker onboarding and maintenance, and documentation of agreements and operational records. Contribute to business continuity planning for investment operations by supporting the development and maintenance of contingency procedures. Share technical knowledge with colleagues by providing guidance on investment monitoring processes, reporting methodologies, and system functionality. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, automate manual activities, and enhance data quality across investment monitoring and reporting processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or another quantitative discipline. Approximately two or more years of experience supporting investment operations, investment reporting, investment compliance, or a related function within the financial services industry. Understanding of investment guidelines, regulatory requirements, portfolio monitoring, and financial reporting principles. Experience working with large datasets and performing data validation, reconciliations, and analytical reviews. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain process documentation, operational procedures, and control documentation. Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and implementing operational efficiencies. Familiarity with investment management platforms, portfolio accounting systems, or compliance monitoring applications is considered an asset. Ability to quickly learn new systems, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
