Job summary

Duties and Responsibilities The evaluation, assessment and restoration design work of existing residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Manage projects and clients from the conceptual design phase to final completion, including administering contracts under construction. Base Salary $100-$125k Oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures for all deliverables, specifically the construction drawings and specifications as they relate to building structures. Assisting with hiring, training and mentoring new structural engineering employees. Assisting with the setting of goals for company growth in building restoration engineering Ongoing review of existing work flow procedures and make recommendations for improvements. Conducting building investigations and reporting. Produce detailed technical reports and letters describing on site field observations with engineering recommendations and construction cost estimates. Assist with preparing client proposals and calculating fees. Assisting field staff and various team members with project execution during all project phases. Qualifications The position is for a senior building restoration structural engineer with a strong background in building rehabilitation and structural design. (Canadian Building Codes) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university Professional Engineer designation in Ontario with a background in reinforced-concrete and steel building structures with an understanding of constructability A broad knowledge of commercial and industrial buildings Minimum 5 years of concrete repair and design experience Previous project management experience Good report writing and computer skills Strong attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills The ability to work independently Fluency in English Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD or Revit A positive attitude and good work ethic Posses a valid driver’s licence and has access to a vehicle Willing to travel/work remotely, as required
