Migration Solution Lead – Oracle DBA / Data Migration Job ID / Demand Number: DMND0000209766 Location: Calgary, AB Work Arrangement: Calgary-based / Hybrid / Remote as per requirement Contract Type: Contract Role: Migration Solution Lead Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Migration Solution Lead with a strong Oracle DBA and large-scale data migration background. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience architecting and executing 10TB+ database migrations and archival initiatives, particularly involving Oracle to Snowflake and/or AWS PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora). Key Responsibilities Lead architecture and technical execution of large-scale Oracle database migration and archival initiatives. Analyze Oracle databases, schemas, tables, PL/SQL objects, and dependencies. Design migration strategies for 10TB+ environments targeting Snowflake and/or AWS PostgreSQL. Utilize Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and PL/SQL for database assessment, extraction, backup, recovery, and migration. Develop migration approaches using AWS DMS and Amazon S3. Plan network bandwidth, throughput, transfer windows, and infrastructure requirements for bulk data movement. Evaluate AWS Snowball or similar solutions when required. Coordinate with DBA, infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams. Define data validation, reconciliation, completeness, and integrity strategies. Establish migration acceptance criteria and technical sign-off processes. Identify database/application dependencies and migration risks. Develop migration runbooks, architecture documents, dependency matrices, and implementation plans. Differentiate between data archival and straight migration, considering retention policies and referential integrity. Provide technical leadership throughout planning, testing, cutover, and post-migration validation. Mandatory Skills 8+ years of Oracle DBA / Oracle Database Architecture experience Strong experience with: Oracle Data Pump RMAN PL/SQL Oracle object dependency analysis Mandatory large-scale data migration experience Experience architecting or leading 10TB+ database migration/archival projects Experience migrating Oracle data to Snowflake and/or AWS PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora) Strong knowledge of AWS DMS Experience with Amazon S3 staging Strong network and bandwidth planning experience for bulk data transfers Experience with AWS Snowball is preferred Strong understanding of data archival, retention, and referential integrity Experience with partial-table archival Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills Preferred Skills AWS cloud migration Snowflake migration architecture PostgreSQL / Aurora Database modernization Enterprise data migration Infrastructure and network coordination Security and access management Transportation, logistics, or other large enterprise experience Ideal Candidate An Oracle DBA / Migration Architect / Solution Lead with 8+ years of Oracle experience and proven experience delivering 10TB+ enterprise database migrations, particularly Oracle → Snowflake or Oracle → AWS PostgreSQL/Aurora, with strong AWS DMS, S3, archival, validation, and stakeholder-management expertise.

Lead the architecture and technical execution of large-scale Oracle database migrations and archival initiatives exceeding 10TB. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to design migration strategies, develop runbooks, and ensure data integrity during cutover.

Requires 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience with a proven track record of leading 10TB+ migrations to Snowflake or AWS PostgreSQL. Must be proficient in AWS DMS, S3, and Oracle tools like Data Pump and RMAN.
