Systems Engineer – Air Systems / Pneumatics Location: Dorval, Quebec, Canada Salary: $137,500 + Comprehensive Benefits Package Role Summary We're recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join an aerospace engineering team based in Dorval, working within the pneumatics discipline. This is a hands-on systems engineering role covering architecture definition, requirements management, supplier oversight and certification compliance across pneumatic systems on aircraft programmes. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, suppliers and production/in-service teams, and get exposure to both the technical and project management sides of the discipline. Responsibilities Act as systems engineer for pneumatics discipline activities, owning integration and interface management across assigned systems Coordinate with internal engineering groups and external suppliers Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, and conduct functional modelling and trade studies Manage requirements validation and verification Oversee suppliers from both a project and technical engineering perspective Review and approve engineering design documents including vendor drawings, test procedures, acceptance test procedures, qualification reports and certification documents Document technical analysis and ground/flight test results Prepare technical reports demonstrating compliance with applicable certification requirements Support the build and operation of test platforms, including rigs and flight test vehicles Work within multi-disciplinary teams to resolve product engineering issues Prepare design change modifications and optimised solutions Support production and in-service teams with troubleshooting Ensure adherence to programme schedule and milestones Contribute to the wider engineering knowledge base and systems Person Specification Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Substantial relevant technical experience within an aerospace engineering environment Strong knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamic concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with the capacity to get to grips with complex technical issues quickly Working knowledge of pneumatics and interfacing disciplines such as system installation, avionics and power plant Familiarity with component qualification standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810) Familiarity with Design Process Assurance (ARP4754A) Comfortable operating across both technical engineering and project management aspects of the role Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first approach Willingness to travel for short-term assignments Desirable Skills Experience with functional modelling and system performance testing Exposure to Model Based Engineering or simulation software Bilingual in French and English Diversity & Inclusion Envisage Recruitment is committed to equality of opportunity for all.
