Role name: OpenSearch Platform & Security Engineer Work Location: Canada (Remote) Role Summary We are looking for an experienced OpenSearch Platform & Security Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in OpenSearch/Elasticsearch operations, platform migration, security configuration, and infrastructure automation. The engineer will be responsible for managing and migrating OpenSearch/Elasticsearch environments, implementing fine-grained security controls, and automating infrastructure and deployments using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities Manage and support OpenSearch and Elasticsearch environments. Plan and execute OpenSearch/Elasticsearch migrations, including data, indexes, configurations, and associated platform components. Configure and manage OpenSearch Dashboards. Implement and maintain Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC) using the OpenSearch Security Plugin. Configure authentication and authorization, including JWT-based authentication. Implement Document-Level Security (DLS) and Field-Level Security (FLS). Configure and maintain roles, permissions, role mappings, and access-control policies. Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and platform deployments. Troubleshoot OpenSearch/Elasticsearch platform, security, configuration, and deployment issues. Support platform upgrades and configuration changes while maintaining stability and security. Work with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to integrate OpenSearch with enterprise applications. Must-Have Skills Strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch and/or Elasticsearch operations and administration. Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch migration. Hands-on experience with OpenSearch Dashboards. Strong knowledge of OpenSearch Security Plugin and FGAC. Hands-on experience with: JWT authentication Role-Based Access Control DLS – Document-Level Security FLS – Field-Level Security Roles and role mappings Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Experience implementing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Strong troubleshooting skills across OpenSearch/Elasticsearch platform and security components. Good-to-Have Skills Experience with large-scale or highly available OpenSearch/Elasticsearch environments. Knowledge of cluster performance, monitoring, indexing, and search optimization. Experience integrating OpenSearch security with enterprise identity/authentication systems. Familiarity with Git-based infrastructure and deployment workflows.

Also requires strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience, CI/CD pipeline experience, and troubleshooting skills; large-scale environments and enterprise identity integrations are advantageous.
