Position Overview The Manufacturing Technologist supports the Engineering and Manufacturing teams at EQI Canada. In this position you will work with employees in our machine shop to provide technical guidance and support on tooling, programming, fixtures and problem-solving. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this is an onsite role at our Sheldon Drive manufacturing facility in Cambridge, ON. Duties and Responsibilities Engineering drawing and document control (PDM, ECN). Part setup and maintenance in ERP. Job creation in ERP for tooling and non-production work. Selection and application of cutting tools. CNC programming for lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centres. Process Planning. Read, interpret, and apply GD&T. Technical review of parts produced by partner suppliers. Design work-holding and assembly fixtures using SolidWorks. Lead and support in-house fixture builds. Lead and support new part production. Material and subcontract RFQs. Project Management. Part and project cost analysis. Collaborate with and support all departments and vendors. Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, process improvement, cycle time optimization. Develop inspection methods and data interpretation. Understanding of material properties. Understanding of castings and forgings. Understanding of heat treatment, plating, painting processes. Critical thinking and problem solving. Microsoft Office applications. Qualifications 3-year Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent experience 3-5 years experience in CNC programming, fixture design, process planning, cutting tool selection and application or related field Knowledge of casting, materials, heat treatment, plating and painting considered an asset Proficient in use of 3D modelling software, such as Solidworks Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook Compensation Participation in annual bonus program Benefits (health, dental, drug coverage, massage, physio, chiropractor, life insurance, long term disability) RRSP with employer match Vacancy Type This position is a current vacancy.
