Role Description The Junior Purchaser is a full-time, on-site role based at Escape Trailer Industries in Chilliwack, BC. This role is responsible for supporting the purchasing function by sourcing materials and components, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records in the inventory and procurement systems. Day-to-day tasks include obtaining quotes from suppliers, monitoring delivery timelines, tracking order status, and resolving basic discrepancies in quantities or pricing. The Junior Purchaser collaborates with production and warehousing teams to ensure materials are available when needed, assists with cost comparisons, and helps identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency. The role also involves communicating with vendors in a professional manner, following established purchasing policies, and supporting the senior purchasing team with administrative and data-entry tasks. Qualifications Foundational knowledge of purchasing or supply chain processes and an interest in learning procurement best practices. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams. Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, email, ERP or inventory systems) and comfort working with numerical data. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, or administrative support in a production or manufacturing setting is an asset. Strong negotiation, communication and people skills Knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems Diploma or coursework in business, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered. Interest in the RV or trailer industry and willingness to develop knowledge of materials and components used in fiberglass trailers.
