Role Description The Site Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, responsible for overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role coordinates and supervises subcontractors and site staff, manages work sequencing, and monitors progress against project plans and specifications. The Site Superintendent enforces safety standards, conducts regular site inspections, and addresses issues promptly to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The position also involves communicating with project managers, clients, and inspectors, maintaining detailed site documentation, and supporting quality control throughout all phases of construction. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in site supervision for commercial or residential construction projects, with a proven ability to manage daily field operations. Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards applicable to Alberta projects. Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and construction documents, with solid planning and scheduling abilities. Effective leadership, team coordination, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to direct subcontractors and site personnel. Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Comfort with basic construction management software, digital documentation tools, and mobile site reporting applications. Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site full time in varying weather conditions and environments. Relevant education or certification in construction management, civil technology, or a related trade; equivalent experience will be considered. Occupational health and safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, COR-related training) are an asset.
