At Excelitas Technologies you are how we EXCEL. X The Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the facilities and improving the building's maintenance service. It must set maintenance priorities and ensure that schedules are met through effective planning and supervision of the work of employees and contractors while ensuring the health and safety of workers under its responsibility. The incumbent must have the necessary skills to work with the heads of the various departments and find appropriate solutions based on the stated objectives. Your Responsibilities: Develop an annual building maintenance plan and justify associated expenses; Supervising workers and contractors from various trades; Ensure that health and safety rules are respected by workers and contractors; Manage the priorities associated with troubleshooting and problem solving related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as on the building's mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, fans, control systems); Introduce small improvement projects related to the building's mechanical systems such as the water system, ventilation system upgrades and/or other projects; Obtain estimates for costing repairs; Determine a life cycle for facilities, establish a preventative and curative maintenance schedule, identify and justify capital expenditures for equipment maintenance or replacement and labor; Coordinating the work of contractors and suppliers; Coordinating the supply of materials and the organization of the inventory; All other related tasks. Your Qualifications: Hold a BAC or a DEC/ AEC in mechanics or electricity combined with five (5) years of relevant experience supervising a building maintenance team. Have a good understanding or formal training on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as on the mechanical systems of a building. Have a good understanding of environmental control systems, electrical systems and all aspects of building maintenance. Demonstrate good problem-solving skills. Have knowledge of computer science, administration, document management and work planning. Demonstrate very good interpersonal skills, effective communication and personnel management skills in a unionized environment. Have hands-on experience in many of the trades or in all occupations under supervision, which will allow him to assess productivity and plan the work accurately, as well as being able to estimate project costs to compare bids. Have a good knowledge of French and English, both oral and written in order to be able to communicate with suppliers both locally and outside Quebec..
