ROLE PROFILE Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer Function: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Manager (or Director, Engineering) Location: Toronto Type: Full-time Role Overview Exchange Solutions is building an AI-first, API-driven loyalty platform supporting high-volume, multi-tenant enterprise retail programs across North America. The Senior Full-Stack Engineer operates within an AI-augmented engineering environment, using agentic development tools such as Claude Code as a core part of the software development lifecycle. This role owns the design, development, testing, deployment, and operational excellence of scalable full-stack solutions across a Next.js/React frontend and serverless AWS backend, while helping establish best practices for AI-assisted software engineering. Primary Responsibilities 1. AI-Augmented Software Development Own features end-to-end across the React/Next.js application and AWS serverless platform. Use Claude Code and similar AI coding tools to plan, implement, review, and refine production-ready software. Develop effective prompts, validate AI-generated code, and ensure security, quality, and maintainability. Promote AI-assisted engineering best practices across the team. 2. Full-Stack Application Development Build and maintain TypeScript, React, and Next.js applications. Design and implement serverless AWS solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Infrastructure as Code. Develop scalable, event-driven services supporting enterprise loyalty platforms. 3. Quality, Testing & DevOps Apply unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices. Participate in test-driven development and continuous integration workflows. Monitor production systems and support continuous improvement. 4. Technical Leadership & Collaboration Mentor engineers and perform high-quality code reviews. Collaborate with Product, QA, UX, Security, and Cloud Engineering teams. Contribute to engineering standards, architecture discussions, and AI governance. 5. Platform & Architecture Design scalable multi-tenant cloud architectures. Model DynamoDB data effectively using access patterns and single-table design. Support Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, SAM, or Terraform. Capability Requirements – education, skills & experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of full-stack software development experience. Expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Strong AWS serverless experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB). Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, SAM, or Terraform). Practical knowledge of DynamoDB data modelling and event-driven architectures. Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot. Strong testing, code review, and software quality practices. Experience mentoring developers and collaborating across technical teams. Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, CI/CD, observability, loyalty, retail, or high-volume transactional systems is an asset.
