Your work environment at EXP In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team, based in our Kamloops office. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across Western Canada on some very large and challenging projects! What a day at EXP has in store for you Working closely with Project Engineers/Managers, field teams and materials staff to conduct construction observations and coordinate testing in both the field and laboratory for projects mainly in and around, but not limited to the Kamloops area. For each project, the successful candidate could be involved in: * Conduct geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting * Coordinate subcontractors to execute assigned projects * Analyzes geotechnical data to prepare results for reports * Prepares initial drafts of geotechnical reports * Carry out engineering analysis under P.Eng. supervision (Previous use of GInt, SlopeW, MSEW, or other Retaining Wall Design software are Assets) * Occasionally Performing Materials field work * Create proposals and budgets for geotechnical and materials projects * Attend staff and project meetings when requested * Interaction with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their needs * Collecting soil and asphalt samples on site * Carry out asphalt coring * Some in-lab work, such as testing concrete cylinders, grain size analysis, Proctor tests, asphalt tests, geotechnical index testing, etc. * Subgrade field reviews * Problem solving of project site issues What your experience looks like * Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering * 0 to 2 years of relevant experience * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams * Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD * Proficient problem-solving skills * Must possess valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization. The salary range for this role is between $60,000 to $80,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Requirements
