Role Description: The Employment Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Abbotsford, BC. This position is responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing job seekers, and matching them with suitable opportunities across the Fraser Valley. Day-to-day tasks include conducting phone and in-person interviews, assessing candidate skills, coordinating training or onboarding, and maintaining accurate candidate and client records in internal systems. The role also involves delivering excellent customer service to both job seekers and client companies, providing regular updates on job opportunities and placements, and collaborating with the team to meet hiring goals. The Employment Specialist supports recruiting campaigns, participates in local outreach activities, and helps ensure a positive, efficient experience for everyone involved in the hiring process. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening. Candidates should possess Interviewing and Recruiting skills to effectively assess candidates and match them to appropriate roles. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to build and maintain positive relationships with job seekers and client organizations. Candidates should possess Training skills to support onboarding, orientation, and basic workplace readiness. Experience in staffing, human resources, or employment services is beneficial. Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Comfort using office productivity tools and applicant tracking or CRM systems. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field is an asset.
