Your key responsibilities Lead and mentor junior associates in responding to federal and provincial audits, strategically advising clients on various options and steps in resolving complex tax disputes. Prepare and oversee the drafting of notices of objection and written representations to federal and provincial tax authorities. Manage litigation efforts in resolving tax disputes, including court appeals, judicial review applications, and other administrative processes such as voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief applications, ruling requests, and remission orders. Provide expert legal opinions regarding the tax consequences of transactions and conduct post-transaction audits for tax efficacy and litigation risk. Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition and relationship management, contributing to the growth of the practice Skills and attributes for success A minimum of 5 years of experience in income tax, sales tax, and other tax areas, with a strong focus on tax litigation. Proven track record in managing complex tax litigation cases and a deep understanding of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, and other Canadian tax systems. A member in good standing of the Law Society of your province of residence. Proficiency in both French and English. Requirements
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in income tax and sales tax with a strong focus on tax litigation. Candidates must be members in good standing of their provincial Law Society and possess proficiency in both French and English.
