With just over 1,750 bed spaces across two campuses and five buildings, our self-operated residence provides a supportive home-away-from-home for students throughout the academic year and summer. We operate 24/7, nearly 365 days a year, ensuring students have access to safe, affordable housing and the support they need to thrive. The December midyear break offers a unique opportunity for our team to take a brief pause, recharging before we welcome students and staff back to our vibrant community for the remainder of the academic year. Within Residence Services, our dedicated team oversees key portfolios: Residence Admissions, Off Campus Housing, Residence Operations, Front Desk & Summer Operations, and Residence Life. Together, we deliver exceptional service and foster a connected, inclusive, and thriving living environment. About The Off-Campus Housing Coordinator Role Under direction of the Manager, Residence Admissions, the Off Campus Housing Coordinator is responsible for off campus housing services, resources, and supports for Humber and University of Guelph-Humber students, as well as developing and maintaining community partner relationships. The Off Campus Housing Coordinator engages current and future learners and their families, providing comprehensive, student-centric support related to off campus accommodations with a goal of creating a sense of belonging within the larger Humber environment. The Coordinator acts as an expert in off campus housing trends, community concerns, bylaws, etc., and will collaborate with on campus and community partners to ensure a broad range of housing options are available to Humber and University of Guelph-Humber learners with varying needs. Collaborating with campus and community partners, the Off Campus Housing Coordinator participates in the building and maintaining of processes, designs and delivers programming, receives and makes referrals both on and off campus, and assists learners in finding safe off campus accommodations options. The incumbent engages current and future students and their families proactively by participating in relevant campus events and by planning and executing various informational sessions, utilizing knowledge, sensitivity and understanding of the personal, intersectional needs, and concerns of equity deserving groups. They also train and coach student staff to extend additional supports to all learners. The Coordinator builds and maintains positive relationships with off campus housing providers and community partners, working to identify new opportunities for safe off campus housing options, and ensuring existing agreements are adhered to. They develop and maintain off campus resources, ensuring inclusivity and cultural relevance while building student community through programming, curriculum, and supports. The Coordinator works closely with the Residence team, offering alternatives to those on the Residence wait list, and preparing those moving out of Residence with an understanding of rights and responsibilities for off campus living. They respond to enquiries related to on and off campus housing, and assist with significant events such as move in, move out, or unexpected urgent situations. The Off Campus Housing Coordinator tracks and analyzes key metrics, conducting an annual assessment of the student housing experience and developing an annual report on off campus housing. They actively seek and work with the Manager to secure alternative funding sources in an effort to subsidize the cost operating the Off Campus Housing department. Occasional evening and weekend shifts are required for program delivery, open houses, Residence move in and move out, etc. Qualifications About You: About You are passionate about working at Ontario's largest Polytechnic; you thrive on improving productivity and quality that contribute to team success! Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and knowledge of instructional design and delivery. Marketing and Communication experience. Experience working independently.
