Comptant plus de 5 500 membres, la Fédération de l'UPA de la Chaudière-Appalaches a été créée le 10 décembre 2013, à la suite de modifications territoriales à l'échelle provinciale où les fédérations régionales ont été délimitées en fonction des régions administratives du Québec. À l'échelle québécoise, la Confédération de l'Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) représente plus de 40 000 producteurs et productrices agricoles. Avec ses syndicats locaux, ses fédérations régionales, ainsi que ses syndicats et groupes spécialisés, l'UPA est en fait l'interlocutrice unique, la voix officielle qui parle au nom de tous les agriculteurs et agricultrices du Québec. L'UPA regroupe les producteurs et productrices agricoles suivant une double structure : Selon le territoire géographique auquel ils appartiennent, le secteur général Selon le type de production agricole qu'ils exercent, le secteur spécialisé On retrouve cette même structure au sein de la Fédération de l'UPA de la Chaudière-Appalaches, avec 11 syndicats locaux qui représentent le général et des syndicats et associations professionnelles qui représentent les productions.
