Job Description: What You'll Do: Equipment Procurement & Purchase Order Management Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including ordering and expediting equipment from Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar suppliers. Create and manage purchase orders to support demand and inventory requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records, tracking systems, and item master data. Support equipment, power systems, and attachment availability while optimizing inventory performance. Product Configuration Management Build and maintain standard equipment configurations, pricing structures, and compatibility requirements. Partner with Industry Representatives to ensure configurations align with product updates and customer needs. Collaborate with IT and quoting tool teams to maintain accurate system data and configurations. Supply Chain Collaboration & Customer Support Work closely with branches, suppliers, inventory planners, transportation teams, and fulfillment groups to resolve issues and improve equipment availability. Investigate inventory and process challenges and recommend improvements to enhance supply chain performance. Support internal stakeholders by providing guidance on procurement processes and equipment ordering procedures. Proactively identify risks and coordinate solutions across multiple departments. Operational Excellence Maintain procurement procedures and supporting documentation. Provide support to other buyers and supply chain teams during peak periods and absences. Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service levels, and customer satisfaction. Uphold Finning's commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. What You'll Bring: Education & Experience Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. 3 to 7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, supply chain operations, or a related field. Experience within heavy equipment, automotive, mining, utilities, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or a similar industry is considered an asset. Knowledge of transportation, logistics, warehousing, sourcing, contracts management, or master data management is advantageous. Experience with Lawson or other MRP/ERP systems is preferred. Skills & Qualifications Strong understanding of procurement, purchasing, and expediting processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with business systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative approach to teamwork. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
