Job summary
Excavator Operator (Civil / Earthworks) Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced excavator operator for civil / earthworks projects located in Edmonton and area. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, potential for winter work and company matching RRSP program. We do rehabilitation work allowing us to be less weather dependant and have less downtime due to weather. Hourly Wage: $42 Duties include (but are not limited to): Finish / detailed excavation scopes Loading trucks Site prep for utility installation Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program Daily equipment inspections and maintenance Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity Required Skills: 5+ years of experience as a finish operator Municipal underground utility experience is an asset Exceptionally safety conscious Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman Ability to operate other equipment is an asset Strong communication skills Required Certifications: Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required) CSTS 2020 (required) WHMIS 2015 (required)
