Title: Community Health Nurse – St’at’imc and Nlaka'pamux Salary: $94,724 - $114,261 per year (pay range explained below) Contract: Temporary- term until June 2028 (leave coverage) Hours: 37.5 hours, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday Location: On-site, Interior Region - St’at’imc and Nlaka'pamux, B.C. (Lillooet & Lytton Health Centers) Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) What We Offer Education Allowance: Up to $3,850 Health Spending Account: $1,100 Extensive Health and Dental Benefits: Offered day 1 of employment Robust Pension Plan Housing provided About The Role As the Community Health Nurse, you will provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services (community / public health, and primary care) in First Nations communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health. You will travel across the region in this exciting opportunity. Some local travel to nearby communities will be required (same day) About You To be successful in this role you will have: Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Occupational Certification And Requirements Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support Certification Level C; Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is an asset Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License Experience Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field Public health experience an asset Knowledge Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations. Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles, and theories of trans-cultural nursing, including knowledge of traditional, homeopathic or other healing practices used in the community.
