The Opportunity We’re currently seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to support our operations in Sudbury, Ontario. This role is ideal for a licensed tradesperson who can confidently troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, prioritize repairs, and maintain clear communication with operations to minimize downtime. Your Day-to-Day Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance Anticipate and troubleshoot breakdowns, list parts required and process orders Perform vehicle road tests Document all repairs on work orders or computer system. Fill out appropriate inspection sheets when required. Daily inspection of all parts to ensure they are appropriately marked Communicate with operations and supervisory staff on availability of equipment Prioritize tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently Prepare daily service reports and other required documents Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment Travel to various job sites across Northern Ontario, including out-of-town assignments with overnight stays as required Work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project demands Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Perform other related duties as assigned You Are a Good Fit If You Have Required Minimum three (3) years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and/or heavy commercial vehicles One of the following Qualifications: Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certification Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (421a) certification with the ability and willingness to obtain Truck and Coach Technician (310T) Certification Registered Level 3 Truck and Coach Technician Apprentice (310T) or higher Valid G class Driver’s License Strong commitment to safety and teamwork Considered An Asset Heavy Equipment Red Seal Certification DZ Drivers’ License Skills & Abilities Successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a criminal background check (CPIC) and any other requirements imposed on contractors) Knowledge and ability to repair and service a variety of heavy equipment Knowledge of vehicle reports and CVOR. Ability to handle multiple on the go tasks and appropriately prioritize based on operational needs Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Professional attitude and strong work ethic What We Offer Compensation & Benefits Pay: $29.06 – $38.56 / hour Extended health, dental, and life insurance Company Pension Plan Employee & Family Assistance Program Company events Ongoing training and career development This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Requirements
