South Surrey, BC CHILDMINDING Full-time Jul 21, 2026 Hourly: $19.85 The Lead Childminder plays a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children aged 3 months to 12 years within our fitness facility. This role ensures the childminding team is well-trained, schedules are efficiently managed, and that all activities align with Fitness World’s policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, creativity, and a passion for child development. Responsibilities Team Leadership: Develop and maintain a monthly schedule for the childminding team to ensure adequate staffing and smooth daily operations. Monitor team performance to ensure adherence to Fitness World’s policies and procedures. Onboarding And Training Lead the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring proper training on safety protocols, company policies, and child engagement techniques. Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance team member skills and performance. Child Engagement And Programming Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities, games, and programs for children ranging from 3 months to 12 years. Update and rotate activity plans monthly to ensure variety and interest. Collaborate with parents and guardians to address individual child needs and preferences. Facility And Equipment Management Ensure the childminding room is equipped with the necessary tools, supplies, and materials for daily activities and games. Conduct regular inspections of toys, equipment, and supplies to ensure they are safe, clean, and in good condition. Coordinate the procurement of additional resources as needed. Safety And Compliance Uphold a safe and secure environment by monitoring children’s activities and maintaining proper child-to-staff ratios. Ensure all team members follow health, safety, and emergency procedures. Document and report incidents or injuries according to Fitness World’s guidelines. Following Fitness World Daily and Weekly cleaning schedule. Communication And Collaboration Partner with the Operations Manager to identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements to the program.
